Oldham 7-Day Access
Oldham GP Federation has been collaborating with local commissioners and providers since July 2015 to help deliver an extended access scheme in Oldham. The service launched in December 2015, providing GP appointments on weekday evenings and at weekends for patients registered at Oldham practices. The service is currently being offered at two sites in Oldham and is in the process of being rolled-out to all Oldham practices.
Clinical Pharmacist Pilot
In November 2015, Oldham GP Federation successfully secured funding on behalf of Oldham practices who expressed an interest in participating in a Clinical Pharmacists in General Practice Pilot, commissioned by NHS England. There were 292 applications for funding and Oldham was selected as one of 73 sites selected to deliver the Pilot.
The Pilot will see 4 clinical pharmacists joining the general practice teams to resolve day-to-day medicines issues and consult with and treat patients directly. This will include providing extra help to manage long-term conditions, advice for those on multiple medications and better access to health checks.
